About the Black Rock Philharmonic
Black Rock Philharmonic is a global volunteer orchestra supported by the Black Rock Musicians Collective (BRMC), a musician-led nonprofit administrative structure created to provide continuity, shared leadership, and stable support for the orchestra.
The 2026 season is led by Music Director Eric Yttri, with planning and communications coordinated by the BRMC board and organizing committee. Maria Miller serves as President of the BRMC board. Meredith Burton (Tic Tac) coordinates communications on behalf of the organizing committee.
We began as a volunteer orchestra at Burning Man and have grown into one of the most beloved collaborative music projects on the playa. Everyone who loves this music and wants to help sustain it is welcome.
